Pro-Trump protester Ray Epps files defamation suit against Fox News

Ray Epps, a Trump supporter who became the focus of right-wing conspiracy theories after he protested in Washington on Jan. 6, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News and former host Tucker Carlson for claiming he was an undercover FBI agent who helped provoke the riot at the Capitol that day.

In his lawsuit, Epps accused Fox News of telling a “fantastical story” that he acted as a government-sponsored instigator of the violence that ensued as Congress sought to certify Joe Biden's electoral victory.

The lawsuit argues that Carlson launched a “years-long campaign” that spread falsehoods that “destroyed” the lives of Epps and his wife, who now reside in Utah but were living in Arizona at the time.

All media outlets have an insane of lawsuits always pending.

You should see the ones CNN has against them currently.

Deflection. Did you understand the threat? Epps is one of the rightys own people. They made him into a target. Tucker lied like hell about him. Yeah, but what about Hunter's laptop?

So what?

Like I said, all media outlets get sued not from only outside sources but oftentimes their own people or former employees.

It's standard in all industries.

The complaint was filed in Superior Court in Delaware, where Fox recently agreed to a $787.5 million settlement in a separate defamation case brought by Dominion Voting Systems to combat claims that the company had helped to rig the 2020 election against Mr. Trump.

“Just as Fox had focused on voting machine companies when falsely claiming a rigged election, Fox knew it needed a scapegoat for January 6th,” the complaint says. “It settled on Ray Epps and began promoting the lie that Epps was a federal agent who incited the attack on the Capitol.”

Ray Epps is not a Trump supporter.
He was not an undercover agent for the FBI. He was an undercover agent for Nancy Pelosi and worked with FBI agents to coordinate the false flag operation by Democrats on Jan 6th.

He can sue whoever he likes. It doesn't change what he is.

Epps is not a Trump supporter.
What about Hunter's laptop? The FBI is facing some pretty serious charges of contempt of Congress charges over that one!

Dominion systems are insecure. The fault is Dominion.
DEMOCRATS organized the riots on Jan 6th.
Ray Epps is one of several federal agents organizing the riot. Ray was an agent of Nancy Pelosi and worked with FBI agents also organizing the riot.

Seems Ray doesn't want to take responsibility for what he did. Of course, neither does the FBI. Neither does Dominion.

This one is a bit different. You must have been out to lunch when Ray Epps became the cause celebre of Jan. 6.

The odds favor Fox settling with Epps for an undisclosed sum and a sealed agreement. I'm guessing in somewhere around the New Year or sooner. LOL

Next he can take the Fox money and sue Tucker personally.

Although the lawsuit mentions Fox's Laura Ingraham and Will Cain, former Fox host Tucker Carlson is cited as the leader in promoting the theory. Epps was featured in more than two dozen segments on Carlson's prime-time show, the lawsuit said. Fox News fired Carlson shortly after the Dominion settlement was announced.

Carlson "was bluntly telling his viewers that it was a fact that Epps was a government informant," the lawsuit says. "And they believed him."

Arrest him for what, Tiny Dick? He never attacked the police and he didn't enter the Capitol. If you arrest him for inciting a crowd, then why not arrest Pedo Don on the same charges?

The removal of other images from the FBI's website has already sparked conspiracy theories. The most infamous case is that of Ray Epps, a Trump supporter from Arizona who was among the first to be added to the FBI's website after the Capitol attack. Epps, No. 16 on a list that now tops 500, was identified soon after the attack, and spoke to the Arizona Republic in its immediate aftermath.

His removal from the list without being charged has prompted rampant conspiracy theories that he was acting as a plant to stoke the crowd.

It was understandable that investigators would want to talk to Epps: He's at the front of the police line (although never appears to engage physically with the police), and was seen the night of Jan. 5 telling a crowd of Trump supporters they needed to go "into" the Capitol ("peacefully," he added).
