Thank God Biden got us out of Afghanistan.

You don't know what "red herring" means.

Yes, I do, and your response here was just another example of one.

My comment was 100% relevant. The issue is what reports about bin Laden are credible. I said reports of the siege of bin Laden at Tora Bora resulting in his ordered escape are very credible.

No, that's bullshit.

The known facts are:

1. There was uncertainty as to exactly where bin Laden was during the battle. Some reports put him elsewhere, and even the ones that had him in Tora Bora were imprecise as to location.

2. Bin Laden had well prior to the battle planned and had walked various escape routes from the area so he had an advantage in knowing the terrain and routes he would be using.

3. The terrain was extremely rugged and at high altitude. This made it difficult to impossible to seal it off with any certainty.

4. When bin Laden escaped, there had been a major terrorist incident in India days before that nearly caused a war between India and Pakistan. Pakistan withdrew most of their forces from the Afghan border region to deal with that threat. This made it easy for bin Laden to cross into Pakistan.

5. The US was reluctant to take casualties and wouldn't commit to a major ground operation. That wasn't a Bush decision but one of standing US policy towards wars at the time.

On the whole, it was a combination of things, none of which were Bush's decision, that allowed bin Laden to escape. It's just political jaundice that you think it was Bush's fault.

I don't read past insults.

Bush was wrong to invade.
Obama lied and kept it going.
Trump did nothing.

Finally, Biden made the courageous decision to end the occupation.

The Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan was sloppily done, Biden should have listen to his military commanders on this?!!

But that being said, I'm glad we are out of there too?!!
