It’s been called affirmative action for the rich: Harvard’s special admissions treatment for students whose parents are alumni, or whose relatives donated money. And in a complaint filed on Monday, a legal activist group demanded that the federal government put an end to it, arguing that fairness was even more imperative after the Supreme Court last week severely limited race-conscious admissions.

I agree the legacy admissions should stop. I don't know how it would happen with private schools though.
 
I don't see the Constitutional issue. Granted legacy admissions favor whites, as they favor wealthier applicants, but what Constitutional protection does this threaten?
 
Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said now that the Supreme Court has limited the use of race as a factor in college admissions, colleges should eliminate legacy-based admissions.

I agree they should but it seems to be one of those unfairnesses the law doesn't address.

Who really cares about Harvard?
Anyone can get just as good an education at most any state school in a STEM curriculum.

BTW I have long used the term "Mind Molder"....they are shapers of minds....getting humans ready for life in UTOPIA.
