Democrats need to shift to economic class, away from identity politics.

Now, in striking down race-conscious college admissions, the Supreme Court has handed the Democrats a way to shift from a race-based discussion of preference to one tied more to class. The court’s decision could fuel broader outreach to the working-class voters who have drifted away from the party because of what they see as its elitism.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Democrats to course-correct from identity-based issues,” said Ruy Teixeira, whose upcoming book “Where Have All the Democrats Gone?” looks at the bleeding of working-class voters over the last decade. “As I like to say, class is back in session.”

What a joke; RACE-O-CRATS cannot exist without "identity politics".

Too late,......you are the race baiter party. No washing that stink clean now. Furthermore ,...that tag has been well earned.

They are in too deep to abandon identity politics at this point and if they tried it would be a disaster for them.

Identity politics is what the right is doing. They are making big deals about LGBT people. To us, they are just people. To rightys they are horrible people who must b jailed. They are after our kids. Except they aren't. You can teach your kids to hate gays and trans and be very proud of that.

No! You Republicans are making up lies about pedophiles grooming children in schools!

Republicans Lying is typical, expected, and proven in court.

Sorry, but most people see the Republicans as just corrupt liars now!

Good luck in 2024- with that kind of Stigma hanging over your heads!

So, what you are saying is that the Democrats should adopt the Marxist didactic of class struggle...

What is "the Marxist didactic of class struggle?"

di·dac·tic
[dīˈdaktik]
ADJECTIVE
intended to teach something, particularly in having moral instruction as a motive:
"a didactic novel that set out to expose social injustice"
SIMILAR:
instructive
instructional
educational
educative
informative

in the manner of a teacher, particularly so as to treat someone in a patronizing way:
"slow-paced, didactic lecturing"

Aside from that, it is the Democrats teaching / using class struggle as the means to shift to economic class warfare from identity (race / class) politics.

In classic Marx, the struggle was defined by economic class, the proletariat versus the bourgeoise. That is the dispossessed and poor v. the owners and rich. Your thread title suggests that you would like to see a return to that idea.

No. I said nothing about Marxism.

I’d OK with only people with a family income of lease than 60 k get accepted to Harvard. It is time for poor kids to get accepted and rich kids get rejected
