The wingers on the SCOTUS can’t act fast enough trying to turn America into Pleasantville, busy day, school loans and gay rights all in one morning

Can’t recall a Court that tried to redefine up America as fast as this one, from campaign financing to guns to abortion to affirmative action to gay rights and topping it off with school loans. Now we have foreign nations and billionaires buying politicians, guns everywhere with predictable results, Gov’t telling women what they can do with their bodies, downplaying the importance of diversity, and now even reducing the rights of what was suppose to be protected minority

And conservatives used to tell us Judicial Restraint was one of their basic principles

You should realize that the Court doesn’t pick the cases that come to them, people bring them so it’s while they can choose not to hear them they have no say in what cases are presented to them.
 
SCOTUS - President is not a King. Congress has to enact a law regarding student loans

Liberals - cry

SCOTUS - You can't discriminate based on race

Liberals - cry

SCOTUS - States do have a say in abortion laws

Liberals - cry

Wrong. They are presented with lots of cases and they select the ones they want to deal with. With this court, they are selecting ones that will give more power and control to the wealthy and haters.

Really, so corporations are people, guns should be allowed anywhere/anytime, women shouldn’t have any say on their bodies, racism doesn’t exist according to the law, and what were protected minorities no longer are, real intelligent positions

Not true, the Court does decide the cases they will hear, and if you want a case infront of the SCOTUS you get it to a local Federal court favorable to your ideology and then appeal it up. This Court has been criticized on how it even fast tracks cases with ideological implications

You’re a fan of saying people on the right demogauge issues but how is what you’re doing any different? Saying that because many people believe AA is the wrong way to address racial disparities (and it discriminates against Asians) it somehow implies racism doesn’t exist? What is that but demogauging?

Perhaps, but how is what I say not partially based upon truth, all of these decisions coming so fast and so ideological not a conscious effort to reframe American society, and hardly the Judicial Restraint conservatives preached for decades?

I believe it is incredibly naive to think that the majority of those who opposed AA were doing so because they thought there was a better way to address racial disparities, and saying the law is above racism certainly implies that racism doesn’t exist under the law

meanwhile I am in an office of liberals that cheered on the financial aid decision. They all paid their dues and expect the younger generation to.

They also have no problems with ending racial discriminations
