We know all of that my dear. We also know that when they were found they were immediately returned. He did not hide them, he did not lie about them, he did not move them, he did not need the FBI to raid his home, and he did not show highly classified doc to his friends.

There isn't evidence Trump can use in court that will legally help him, so he's possibly decided to appeal to the sympathies of the not very intelligent people he hopes can be maneuvered onto his jury. I think that's the only way you can read his dumb comments from that interview.

What he has is what all Trumpers have - something other than the subject of the thread, anything other than the trouble Trump is in. Whether Trump is guilty or innocent has nothing to do with Hunter Biden or the documents his father immediately returned when they came to light, something Trump could have done and avoided all this trouble but decided to deceive and stonewall instead. After all, his golf shirts.

General Kelley was correct: Donald Trump is a fucking moron.

Sure, Trump may be stupid enough to seek to appeal a jury member to ignore their oath and vote not guilty despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Heck, being Florida, it might even work. Even if it does, Trump's comments are starting to turn off Independents, a block of voters Trump needs to win over in an election.

No doubt. But if he's weighing campaign strategies against staying out of prison strategies he might decide that appealing to the basest sympathies of his base has become the choice to make. In this he may be smarter than his lawyers. Or it might blow up in his face.
 
Trump is flailing. He is throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks. But he has no defense. He committed classification crimes in public and defied the FBI to do something about it. They gave him over a year to follow the law, but he chose to defy them. He stole a truckload of classified documents. He hid them from the FBI. He had them laying about not protected. He provided citizens with the info in highly classified documents. Trump has no defense. He should be residing in Gitmo when it ends.
