[Article II, section 1 of the Constitution . . . .] The President does not enlist in, and he is not inducted or drafted into, the armed forces. Nor, is he subject to court-martial or other military discipline.

I don't agree with it, but you are right, according to the Constitution. Our forefathers never envisioned such a rogue character as Donald Trump to be Commander In Chief, and never envisioned such an abomination of the Office of the president of the United States!

Civilian leadership of the armed forces is one of the things that made our nation different than more direct dictatorships. You know, like those dictatorships where a leader can use a national agency, like maybe the FBI, to try to shut down conversation they don't like...

A judge has the authority to enforce rules that make the administration of justice go smoothly. If trumps attorneys wanted to fight it, they certainly have the right to appeal.

Because Trump has still to prove his case. After the case is proven the clearances will be unnecessary. Unless of course the prosecution wants to stipulate that the documents are declassified. :dunno:

Sensitive national defense documents don't stop being sensitive national defense documents because their classification was selfishly stripped away, and classified or not the documents are government property, not mementos.
