Does trump have a viable defense?

I read the indictment, and I do not see a viable defense for Trump? Does anybody have any kind of defense to the allegations against Trump? I’m not talking about whining about pretend arguments that other people did the same thing, I’m talking about an honest defense

There isn’t one.

How can he have a defense when the government has audio and video tapes along with his lawyers notes. If his valet works out a plea deal, it’s game, set and match over.

Even if the Cannon judge helps trump in any way she can

Trump has more trials to face

She could drag it on or even dismiss The case

He’s is still in big time trouble

Agree. The charges seem air tight. Trump had no right to possess those documents and refused explicit requests to return them.

Lawyers are very clever individuals...or at least, some lawyers are.

Do not be surprised at the defense they present. Their main problem will be their client. He will be advised to shut the hell up...and he will ignore that advice.

My guess is that Trump will be convicted. Whether he spends any time behind bars is another question completely.

Also, the rulings of the judge are always important. This judge is a MAGA moron. That will impact, although I think the prosecution gets past that. I am hoping that she does not overrule the piercing of the of lawyer/client privilege. (Not sure if she can.) That issue could take a long time working its way through the SCOTUS.

Yes, he does. It is called the Presidential records act which make these charges not only farcical, but extremely dangerous.

How can anyone take this nonsense serious when EVERY President has done the exact same thing?

How can anyone take this nonsense serious if Biden is not indicted and charged? His case is even more damaging in that he was never President and had documents in numerous UNSECURED locations.

Places the responsibility for the custody and management of incumbent Presidential records with the President.

Requires that the President and his staff take all practical steps to file personal records separately from Presidential records.

Allows the incumbent President to dispose of records that no longer have administrative, historical, informational, or evidentiary value, once the views of the Archivist of the United States on the proposed disposal have been obtained in writing.

Establishes in law that any incumbent Presidential records (whether textual or electronic) held on courtesy storage by the Archivist remain in the exclusive legal custody of the President and that any request or order for access to such records must be made to the President, not NARA.

His defense is the Presidential Records Act. It was an abuse of power to send in the FBI. It is an abuse of power to fabricate absurd charges like espionage.

This should be dismissed based on the groundless assertion that a President cannot maintain his own records and that the PRA supersedes any despicable efforts by a weaponized DOJ to single Trump out.

Now, if the DOJ wants to charge Biden, Pence, Obama, Clinton and a host of others guilty of the same offense or worse for Biden who was never President, then perhaps that can be argued out in courts.

Your triggered and moronic hyped up partisan TDS is showing. :palm:

Reading the indictment and seeing the evidence presented to the court are totally different things.

I believe the evidence will show that Trump is being UNDERCHARGED and is probably guilty of capital crimes.

That's just what I suspect, however.

The evidence will reveal the truth, and the jury will either give a shit or it won't.
That's the other variable.

The good news here about your predictions is that your always wrong. ;)

My dear it’s nice that you continue your total bullshit. You gotta ask yourself why did he take them and why didn’t he just return them?

it says nothing about ex-pesidents. trump did not have the power to abracadabra everything into classified or unclassified when he was in office. He certainly cannot use it for a defense when he is not in office.

Projection. You're the one spreading utter bullshit. In fact, it appears to be between your ears too. Now run along shit-for-brains.

The minute they are taken or made public, they are declassified.

I'd like to know from any of you Trump hating halfwits if Biden should be charged? Anyone?

No one wants to mention that Trump went around showing top secret documents to his friends

Everyone else cooperated
