Air Quality/Wildfire Smoke Alerts

My daughters (two in Vermont, one in Illinois near STL) have been talking on family social media today about the air quality alerts we've been getting from NOAA, mostly due to a weird early summer stagnant air pattern across the U.S., plus smoke from wildfires in Canada. We've had our first ever air quality alerts here in the UP, since we moved up here. It's been on national news as well.

Are you guys doing okay? Anyone with respiratory issues who are being affected? We're all good here. Hoping that you all are all right as well.

Choke on it and die!

Code red yesterday in NC now code yellow

Wednesday brought the first Code Red air quality alert to North Carolina since 2012.

Yep respiratory issues - COPD

Have had quite a few bad air quality days in North central Wisconsin this last month. Something we normally never have to deal with. Bright sunny days lately but very hazy due to the wildfires in Canada. No lung problems in my family luckily so its been no big deal.

Good to hear, I guess the further east you go, the worse it gets.

Holy cow. Please be well. Your kids/g-kids can do any errands you need done till this passes. It does look like a change in the weather pattern is imminent.

We still have a bit of haze but it's from the wildfires in western Canada and is quite light. The bad stuff is from the fires in eastern Canada. They're really getting it bad in the NE. Did you see the pics of NYC on the news? It looked like a typical day in Beijing!

My friend says they are even wearing masks indoors and have two air purifiers running! Hope you get some relief.

We've had several days of red alerts that are being blamed on the Canadian wild fires. Today's report says the bad air is coming from Ottawa and that's 550 miles from here.
