CHICAGO — A newly acquired video shows four people, at least two armed with machine guns, unleashing a torrent of gunfire in Chicago on Wednesday evening. The shots left a 14-year-old boy dead and at least three others injured.

Later, a 16-year-old boy fired a gun at Chicago police officers as they investigated the shooting. He was charged yesterday with six counts of attempted murder of peace officers.

The video, provided to CWBChicago by a source, shows four people walking across a vacant lot in the 4200 block of South Wells around 8:20 p.m. on June 1.

You really don't have much of a life, do ya chuckles? I mean, for YEARS all you and your brethren do is just post every news item that carries a report about crime being committed by black folk. Then you ignore all else that goes on crime wise in the country. I mean, no one denies crime...but when you see it through the eyelets of a pointy hood, things look a bit different.

Automatic weapons to the non-military need to be banned nationwide. Banning anything in Chicago won't matter if you just need to drive 10 minutes to redfuck Indiana and get whatever you want.

The only reason, it seems, criminals take the drive to Indiana is because local gun shops are tapped out. There is a tremendous demand for weapons in Chicago.

I remember back in 1969, the year I graduated High School, this song came out and knocked the Beatles "Get Back" off the No. 1 spot.

I couldn't believe a tear came popping out while I was in the middle of the song, the first time I heard it. The song moved me in such a way, that I had to go home and pick it out on the old standard guitar and play the song for myself. I remember at the time, Walter Cronkite seemed like he had stories about the Chicago, Boston, and the Bronx ghetto crimes on TV most every night, and I was shocked to hear most of the victims of these crimes were just kids. It was just as upsetting to me then, as it still is today. I couldn't believe that these kids had it so bad, and here I was driving around in a brand new muscle car I was paying for myself, as I had a good job in the Meat Market, and having so much care-free fun in my life at the time.

Elvis helped me understand what was really going on. And the song still brings a little tear to my eye every time I hear it still today.

And thanks goes out to Mac Davis for writing such a great moving song for Elvis to record.

'Dixie Pipeline' Is Sending A Lot Of Guns To Chicago From Mississippi; What Is Behind It?



CHICAGO (CBS) -- With gun violence on the rise in Chicago, the U.S. Department of Justice is set to unleash what is being touted as a "Strike Force."


On Tuesday, CBS 2's Chris Tye took a close look at where the guns being trafficked from before they end up at Chicago crime scenes. One state stands out from the rest, and for reasons you might not expect.

Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, of course, are rivals in sports and neighbors. They also funnel weapons into and out of each other every hour of every day.

But one state funneling guns into Illinois is not home to a Great Lake and is not a neighbor. It's coastal, sitting on the Gulf of Mexico. But it has deep Illinois roots.

And while there is a different speed to things in the Magnolia State, Mississippi is a fast mover with guns.

"Gun laws in Mississippi – the OK Corral," said Juan Cloy, a former assistant police chief in Mississippi and a former FBI agent. "Just wide open."[
