Let’s Smash the College Admissions Process

More truth than you realize in that statement.

If these economically disadvantaged students cannot perform well in high school, it is cruel to think they can perform in schools with high admission standards. It makes more sense for them to go to community college or middle-level colleges that already have open admission policies.

They can do just fine in Gender Diversity Studies at Harvard.
You think “teachers” like Lori Lightfoot would give less than a “B” in her public health leadership class (for which she has zero credentials to teach) to a marginal student?

Lightfoot has a Juris Doctor from University of Chicago Law School, which means she has a graduate degree that is usually considered full credentials to teach a college course. She is teaching at Harvard, so there are not that many marginal students there, and none who are both disadvantaged and marginal. There has been a lot of grade inflation over the years, but they still give grades below a B. In fact, as a new adjunct professor, Lightfoot will almost certainly grade harsher than most.

Seriously, Lightfoot is more than credentialed to teach at a college, where trump has no such credentials. They can sometimes make an exception for someone like trump, but it would be an exception for someone who has zero credentials.

Few students get less than a "B" in Harvard-Princeton-Yale classes. One of the schools tried to limit the number of high grades but then their graduates were less likely to be admitted to professional schools or graduate school than the other Ivy League schools.

The difference I see is Lightfoot could be considered to be a failure in office and during her previous positions. As an assistant US attorney she got a formal reprimand / warning from the 7th Circuit Court, pretty much ending that career. She then went to the Chicago Police Department Office of Professional Standards where she got into more ethical trainwrecks that ended that career. From there, she moved to private practice with fringe radical Leftist groups like NARAL until radical Leftist Rahm Emmanuel rehired her with the city of Chicago.

So, one could characterize her as of marginal competence and an ethical trainwreck. Hardly someone I would want teaching law courses. Of course, her solid track record of being a radical Leftist, along with being Black, female, and lesbian, probably were taken as more serious reasons for Harvard to hire her than anything to do with competence or ethics.

No, the "left" always recognize MAGA mooks trying to make everything a joke when they can't logically or factually defend/support their position.

Will you grow up? Just because you're proven wrong on one point doesn't mean you're wrong on everything. Jeez, T.A. You're nothing like me because I can and have admitted error from time to time. The day I see you do likewise, then I'll know there's hope for ya. Carry on.

Fascinating how your knee jerk bigotry (once again) takes personal supposition and conjecture as fact ... I refer to your last sentence.

If you and your like minded compadres applied like scrutiny to the current cabal of clowns in the GOP congress, things might be a little better in this country. Carry on.
