As I argued before, all good music came from the south. Jazz, Rock and Roll, R&B, hip hop, even punk rock are all southern creations or have their roots in southern music. Everything but rap, which we improved on with Outcast and other dirty south groups.

Fuck you Yankees and Westerners (Western people are not as judgmental, but for those that are). You all have recent and dirty memories of racism too and none of the visionaries.

What is it with Southerners and this inferiority complex shit? You don't hear anyone from California, Washington, Vermont, Wisconsin or Ohio going, "Gald damn I'm proud to be Wisconsin Badger land of milk, cheese, beer and bratwurst.

There is no Northern barbecue that will ever compete with the BBQ from the South or Western states. That is one thing that the South has going for it. However their "spicy" food leaves much to be desired, unless they are Southwest, like Texas....

Western food rules, because we just take what is best from everywhere else and make it ours...

Hey I know what you mean but what's the complex about it? I mean southerners and westerners might be good at BBQ'ing meat but where the hell would you be with out those midwesterners who raise the best damned pork and beef in the world. Ya'll BBQ wouldn't amount to doodly squat if it weren't for them but ya'll don't hear them goin off about bein the cultural center of the universe cause they know how to cook a pig do ya? LOL

Love 'Nawlins... I cook a turducken, a crawfish etouffe, and jambalaya every Christmas for the extended family. I didn't say it was non-existent, just rare and towards the "west" part of the South. Louisiana, being right next to Texas would be in that region. However, it skipped Oklahoma, who has generally crappy food.

You haven't tasted beef from cattle you helped to raise... It is wonderful. One of the most difficult times to remain vegetarian is at Christmastime for me... It makes me happy that they all love my turducken, jambalaya and my etouffe. (I do make a vegetarian version of the Jambalaya.)

Honestly, white southerners are the only people who aren't 1st or 2nd generation Americans that still retain any amount of their culture. I really wish the north was as diverse sometimes.

I've been pretty good at dealing with the real Southerners. They call me with some odd problem and off the wall accent, and I work through it with them. About two months ago I got a call from a 65 year old woman with an extremely thick accent that I could barely understand, and after I met her and her husband and solved their problem I talked with them a bit. They had a nice spread in Davidson County on several acres, nice cars, a $150,000 RV, a wicked HD entertainment system, and pictures of the grandkids all over the place. She was recently retired from the sheriff's office, and had been in charge of the County's evidence library. Needless to say she was as sharp as a tack and someone that Watermark and most of these "enlightened" liberals here would have hung up the phone on.

I agree. Whether or not you personally like the lifestyle or values they have definitely retained their identity within the melting pot of America. It's respectable in a way.
