I don't even know what "wokeness" means, but if it means standing up to bullies who persecute others because of the color of their skin, how they dress or who they love then count me as one of the woke.

I'm reminded how trumpism was launched with a speech that claimed, "Mexicans are sending mostly drugs and crime across our border and that only some are good people". If being opposed to hate speech like that makes me "woke", then I wear that as a badge of honor.

You are attempting a false analogy. Each of your examples represents a different reason for a celebration. A Christmas parade represents, variously, celebration of a holiday of gift giving or religious significance. St. Patrick's day and Cinco de Mayo (not celebrated in Mexico BTW) are ethnic celebrations.

The problem with pride parades is they are often in your face sex celebrations for a particular, very small, segment of the population (1 to 2%). Since they are throwing a sex parade, shouldn't they be inclusive and invite the topless bars, strippers, hookers, and other sex workers to participate?

Or, is it that these parades are often so sexually explicit and deviant that they border on illegal public displays, and people are getting tired of seeing it?
