It's been almost three months and we still don't know who the Dobbs leaker was?

I mean, we all know it was Ginni Thomas and it was done to keep the Conservatives in line...I wonder if Thomas wrote his concurring opinion before or after his wife leaked the Dobbs decision?

Anyway, how's that investigation coming? Anyone know? I haven't heard anything since Roberts vowed to investigate.

I guess he didn't like the results of the investigation because they obviously totally undermine the court's authority, or he lied and never conducted an investigation (because he knows it was Ginni too).

has the Biden just-itch department even appointed an investigator yet?.....

John Roberts said the Supreme Court would lead the investigation, not the DOJ you goofball:

Roberts orders leak investigation as court confirms authenticity of draft opinion
And Chief Justice John Roberts indicated that he has directed the court’s marshal to launch an investigation into the source of the leak.

That was over two months ago.

What's the fucking holdup?

if it was anyone other than Ginni or Alito, you can bet Roberts would have crucified them in public right away. We would have known immediately because it isn't very difficult to follow the paper trail back to the leaker...only a handful of people had access to it and access to the judges.

Only Ginni Thomas had nothing to lose by leaking it.

Who cares?

Biden's Justice Department request to investigate was denied by Roberts, who legally had the final say of who investigates. Roberts instead decided the Marshal of the United States Supreme Court Curley would investigate. Curley investigated and found 91 people had access to versions of the documents at some point before or after the leak. She decided not to investigate who had access to the exact version, before the leak. Best guess is that because it was the conservative version, moderates would not have had access to it. Curley's defense to this odd decision was that decades ago, justices and their staffs used to read decisions that they disagreed with, and while it has not happened in decades, and no one says it happened in this case, who knows maybe everyone is lying and it did happen.

So the short answer to your question is Roberts denied the Justice Department's request to investigate, and then covered up the whole incident with a sham investigation.

The first question you should ask in this case is, Who stood to benefit from leaking the decision ahead of it being officially announced?

The topic post suggest Thomas, insuring that none of his colleagues strayed from the original opinion, but a case could be made for any of them, especially Alito, who has a history of leaking, was found leaking the Hobby Lobby decision to the owners of Hobby Lobby at a celebration party, and boasted he knew who leaked it but wouldn’t say who

An equal case could be made for a Progressive Leftist clerk or like individual getting a copy of the decision and making it public in hopes of creating a public backlash that might alter the eventual outcome.

Nah, if it were a clerk or lower level position they would have released the individual’s name by now, and the topic post could be correct, “altering the outcome” before it became official would be something Thomas, or should I say his wife, would want to insure

Only if they could positively ID the perp. A clerk that was careful in covering their tracks could have done it without being exposed.

Is that how you got away with stealing nuclear secrets, Terry?

Based upon how SCOTUS covered up the unethical behavior of Clarence Thomas, I have no doubt they know who released the document.

They have, but since it was a conservative, they are not going to tell us.
