Clarence Thomas should resign from the supreme court, for the good of the court

After ProPublica and other news organizations exposed one damning revelation after another, it has become unarguably clear that Clarence Thomas is hugely corrupt, has brazenly and repeatedly violated disclosure laws and has shown utter contempt for the most elementary ethical standards. It’s deeply troubling that so few of our political leaders have called for the obvious moral response to this ever-widening scandal: Thomas should resign.

He is as old as Trump. He has an excuse to slip out and avoid the ignominy of being forced out for corruption. if he thinks he will have a long-lasting reputation, he can try and salvage it.

Agreed. It's not that he's committed a crime, but he's dishonored the court by giving the appearance of impropriety.

If he had any honor, he'd resign.

Loose ethics isn't a crime. We, the People, have allowed it to happen for the past three decades.

Maybe. He's a fucking lawyer. Let's hope he's smart enough to know where the legal line is drawn .

Considering we have Sotomayor up there getting Multiple-millions from a company that is directly affected by multiple decisions that followed that she did not recuse herself from (or even report the conflict)... maybe the folks getting all "he should have to quit" should take a step back and look at the mote in their own eye.

I can see why folks think it is skeevy, even questionable, but the reality is he did not make decisions in favor of this guy after he paid his kid's tuition, he just accepted a gift, now Sotomayor... She ruled on multiple cases that affected the publisher that paid her $10 Million without reporting the conflict. Do I think she changed her ruling? I don't know. I do know that there was a conflict of interest there...

And I have heard that she is dumb, as in there is no way you put her on any upper court for her brains, much less SCOTUS.

Only proving that We, the People, have allowed this to happen. The excuse of "Buuuuuut Mommmm! Everyone else is doing it toooo!" is bullshit.

You're free to excuse Thomas due to claims about Sotomayor, but I think that's missing the main problem here.

Some people are promoted beyond their capacity. I don't know if she is unintelligent, her rulings and responses have not shown any indication of that, just of a disregard of the constitution in favor of her feels. You kind of expect that with the leftists though.

Which takes us back to the point about We, the People, allowing this shit to happen out of political expediency.

Not a lawyer, but my experience says that pointing fingers rarely solves anything.
