In what way does that authorize them to ignore the public debt?

So, if you take both articles, it is clear that Congress is mandated to pass legislation, which provides for the the servicing of the public that

It’s like all issues, the Founding Fathers never realized there would be a group of idiots that would default on our debt. They trusted all politicians would be honorable Americans, so erroneously, they didn’t set up provisions to rectify this type of stupidity.

It is not a stretch to say the 14th can be used for Biden to raise the debt ceiling. It says "The validity of the public debt, authorized by law, shall not be questioned." It is easy to see that it gives the president the power to raise the debt ceiling. However, the Dems are reluctant to open that can of worms. They want to proceed as we normally do and pay our debts.

Debt is just being paid with more debt. It's like running too high a total on your credit cards.

Reasonably accurate numbers.

Trump reduced spending from what it otherwise would have been during the first few years. He also reduced regulations and programs that were strangling business activity. In 2020, Democrats started the Covid welfare programs, increasing spending to obscene levels and implementing more communism. All this occurred while Democrats were shutting down businesses and imposing stupid restrictions on businesses deemed 'necessary'.

You will also note the deficit went way up during that time too.
