Ukraine is absolutely shooting down most of the supposedly unstoppable hypersonic missiles. You can question the exact numbers, but it is safe to say "most". Russia has responded by arresting their own scientists, and by targeting Ukrainian air defense in hopes of getting their missiles through.

Why is Putin frantically going after air defense, if that is not a great danger. Ukraine is on the verge of a major offensive, you would expect that to be the big concern for Putin. But he has to worry about air defense, because air defense is shooting down his missiles.
