Wrong. McCarthy put forward a bill on the debt ceiling, like it or not. Schumer in the Senate proclaimed publicly that it was "Dead on arrival." Biden was nowhere to be found for weeks in this process. Then, at the tenth hour, Biden calls a meeting at the White House on it that goes nowhere.

The Democrats fully expect the Republicans to cave 100% to their demands, and it doesn't look like that's happening. No compromise is where the Democrats are at and that will cause the ceiling to be reached. I also don't think people will buy this as the Republican's fault. At worst, they'll blame all politicians and both parties. For those that are paying attention, the Democrats are going to get the lion's share of the blame.

Sure it is. It is debatable as is any bill. For example, How much do we raise the ceiling? is a debatable question. Another might be, Do we also restrict new spending? The Democrats want to raise the debt limit without restriction. The Republicans want to restrict potential new spending while raising the limit. That is perfectly debatable and reasonable.

Jeffries only needs 5 Good Samaritans to get a Bill through.
