I think he's a smart guy with absolutely horrible political instincts. He coattailed Trump, and then thought he could outsmart his mentor. He can't. He gambled on the idea that he was Trump without the baggage. He didn't understand that there is only one Trump. He's making a mistake that will likely end his political career.

I love how the press just finds something in Florida and regardless of whether DeSantis has anything to do with it they just attach his name. Some guy suggests a law that never makes it to floor debate because it is absurd... the press writes a story about it like it was something DeSantis personally wrote.

DeSantis scares them far more than Trump. Especially if he announced a VP early on and they run as a true team. The key for Republicans, and they are now starting to organize like never before, is to support very early voting and organize their own ballot harvesting teams. Time to play the democrat party games.
