Actually, it is a condition of the debate which is decided beforehand. Fact checking can be a duty of the moderator if those debating decide it’s allowed.

Trump's deal was the audience was his people. People in the audience said there were lots of people disgusted by Trump, but the deal was also was no booing allowed. Trump is a showman. He knows how to manage appearances. His regular comments about his staff looking like they came out of Central casting showed how shallow he is. Trump is unAmerican. He wants to overthrow the system. However, he is running because he thinks it will protect him from charges like being president did. I do not think it will.
