The fact the Ukrainians are still fighting a conventional war over a year later indicates the war isn’t going well for the Russians. I thought it would become a guerrilla war within a couple weeks of Russia taking over the entire country.
The fact the Russians need weapons from third world countries indicates the war isn’t going well for the Russians.
The fact Putin needed to hire mercenaries, both Syrian and the Wagner Group, which is a violation of Russian law, indicates the war isn’t going well for the Russians.
As the US found out in Vietnam, just supplying locals with weapons and training isn’t enough. They have to want to fight. The Ukrainians clearly want to fight. All they need is the material support and occasional training to get the job done.
I don't underestimate the Russians. Playing defense is easier than playing offense, and they have had six months to construct defensive fortifications in depth. To some extent they seem to have developed tactics and countermeasures to Himars and drones.
Hopefully the Ukranians will be able to make a breakthrough, but this sure seems a lot like world war 1
While I agree it’s unwise to underestimate one’s enemies, even in the Separatist territories it’s still Ukrainian home turf. I have little doubt that the Ukrainians know the exact nature of the Russian defenses and the weak points…if not saboteurs in place to destroy targets from the inside.

I don’t support anyone I simply research the facts and then analyze them and this is my conclusion.
People like you and most of the media choose to live in a fantasyland where you want to believe that Ukraine has a chance of coming out on top.
The only way that happens is if a Western power decides to throw their full support behind Ukraine and risk WW3.
No nation is willing to do that

From what I found the territory of Ukraine ha been invaded 16 times since the thirteenth century.
They only managed to repel invaders twice

FWIW, as other posts of mine stated, I fully expected the Russian Army to roll over the Ukrainians like they did the Afghans in the 1980s with the same result; a guerrilla war for decades to come. What surprised me was how the Russian Army turned out to be a paper tiger, a shell gutted by the greed of Putin and his oligarchs. The fact you support this says a lot about you, Stretch. None of it good.

Putin is playing the long game because he knows he can wear Ukraine down by attrition.
It doesn’t matter to him if it takes five years because he will eventually win.
If Russia were to storm in there with all their military might the western powers would freak out and rush to defend Ukraine so Russia is taking it slow.
Putin doesn’t care about casualties or losing a couple miles of land because he is making Ukraine use up their resources faster then they can replace them.
And when Ukraine is incorporated into Russia you owe me 50,000

Sweet cheeks; the length of the war matters to the Russian families seeing their relatives shipped home in body bags do care just like it mattered to American families during Vietnam and the Iraq War.

Why would I owe you $50K? I haven’t lied, even if Ukraine loses, what I posted is not a lie as you’ve posted several times.
So you admit Putin lied about invading Ukraine to liberate them from Nazis. That he was doing this all for the benefit of Ukrainians.
If you and Putin desire to reduce Ukranian cities to piles of smouldering ash, you will make Ukranians hate Russia with a burning passion for decades to come, and no Russian serviceman will ever be safe walking around the streets of Ukraine.
Remember how for the last two decades, rightwing message board posters have hollered that freedom was worth fighting and dying for?
But then they scream for Ukrainians to surrender and submit to the invaders.

Russia isn’t the US, family losses are not a concern like they are here.
Over there it’s more about supporting the state than individual loss
The media doesn’t report this but if you start digging you will find out how much Ukraine is on the ropes right now.
This is why Zelenskyy is begging for the western powers to intervene but everyone are turning their backs on them.
They are getting billions of dollars in support but around 70% of that goes for aid and infrastructure, 20% goes for supporting the military with things like food and shelter and only about 10% goes to the actual purchase of military hardware which has to be ordered and shipped which takes months
Ukraine also has every able bodied man already fighting, they have nothing in reserve while Russia has essentially and endless supply of soldiers
