California, in an ultimate move of stupidity, has decided to ban trucks and trains using so-called 'fossil' fuels.

Since electric vehicles have limited payload capacity, this means California will no longer have any shipments moving through, into, or from their territory.

So...
* no power generation (except through piddle power), importing almost all of it.
* no reliable way to charge your electric car.
* no transportation of goods into or out of the territory. No supplies.
* effectively making permanent the closure of their ports (which require trucks and trains).
* no reliable water supply (since they no longer store sufficient amounts of water).
* business activity curtailed or destroyed because they can no longer get supplies or ship product.

It this keeps up there won't even be enough for the thieves to openly loot and pillage.

I wonder how they are going to move wind turbine INTO California. It will be hard to tow those huge blades with Teslas.

Typical "pidgin," first he obscures his source, and then, conveniently omits several key points regarding the proposal:

"Under the proposal, in 2036, 100% of new sales of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks must be zero emissions in California, scaling up from phased-in timelines that vary by the type of truck. The rules also would force companies that operate 50 or more trucks to gradually convert their fleets into electric or hydrogen models, reaching 100% zero-emissions by 2042, with these timelines also based on the type of truck."

"The trucks that would be affected by the new rule make up just 7% of the vehicles on California’s roads"

Is it any wonder he swallows seemingly entire bullshit right wing media sources shovel and then regurgitates it hear as facts

Current Overlords do have the power to decide what future Overlords do, this is nothing but a suggestion.
 
I see commercial businesses responding to this in one of two ways:

They stop doing business in California and the rule doesn't affect them,

or,

They jack their prices through the rafters to pay for the mandates forced on them.

If they choose the latter, it's likely that the state will impose artificial caps on what they can charge that are below their costs, so then the companies choose the former route and leave the state.

California's radical Leftist government then complains about how these companies are assfucking their state by not wanting to do business there...

And if they raise their prices, or pull out of the State, others will quickly replace them, the market is too big

If you read the article, all of this is just a proposal, if passed, doesn't even take affect till fourteen years down the road and largely effects only new vehicles, or as the source said, seven percent of the trucks currently in operation.

Aimed at trucks used in highly densified areas, as LA, and specially such as garbage trucks, which if you ever been in LA smog is a problem

The market will shrink. The alternative would be for the company to use only vehicles registered in another state and then use these to enter California, make a delivery, and leave all on diesel engine without having to refuel within the state. Reciprocity laws would make that perfectly legal and there's nothing California can do about it.

I understand it's a proposal, and it's a damned stupid, retarded one.

The problem here is that going electric isn't the solution, it's a quick fix bandaid. In Cali it's going to be worse, because the state is going to increasingly find they can't even keep the lights on as solar and wind cannot supply the power they need.

It would be impossible.

Wind turbines require several very large specially built semi-trucks. These blades must be hauled to off road locations (at best they get a dirt road, which they might have to MAKE).
The tower comes in sections and also requires specially built semi-trucks to haul those parts. The rest of it arrives on a couple of normal semis.

Assembly requires the use of a helicopter (that gas guzzling aircraft!!) to lift and mount everything in placed. It's also dangerous work, since the workers on the tower have little room to dodge if there is a rigging problem and must bolt the heavy members together as they are lifted into place. If gasoline is outlawed, no helicopter. If the trucking industry is unable to get parts and supplies to the airport where the helicopter is, no helicopter.

Further, it takes MORE semi-trucks to haul in and place the power poles used to get the electricity from these things out to the nearest point on the interconnect, AND to string the wire along those poles.

California just outlawed everything that it takes to get these wind turbines into place.

Electric trucks just can't do it. They don't have the payload capacity or the ability to handle the rough terrain in remote areas with a load.

The bigger the vehicle, and the more payload you must carry, the worse EVs become.

They've ALREADY HAD more than a decade and they still haven't 'figured it out'.

Tesla introduced the Roadster in 2004.
EVs have been around since the late 1800's.
The Li-ion battery was invented in the mid 1980's. It hasn't changed.
The electrical shortages in California have only grown worse. It is not getting better. Now, with the shutdown of their last nuclear power plant, California imports almost all their power from the WRIC. Those lines are already overloaded. The WRIC will NOT sacrifice itself to save California.
