A Biden 2nd term? Oy-Vey!

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
So Uncle Joe is going for another term.

 Oh brother!

IMHO, eventually no good will come of this.

Let's get real: Uncle Joe is a mov'in kinda slow...or is slowing down in the mental reflex dept. Nothing critical yet like with Reagan's Alzheimer, but enough that the stress and complexity of the POTUS office will take its toll even more.

That means more reliability on Cabinet, the VP and whatever PAC and "behind the scenes" boys are in the Senate and halls of the White House. And GOD help us all if he chooses to keep Harris as VP....and he WINS! Should he become ill or incapacitated, Harris becomes acting President. Given her history of backroom deals, I shudder to think what would happen with her at the helm.

Now I've got some bones to pick with how Uncle Joe has been running things ( taxes, nuke power, Middle East for example). But I see him as "Clinton lite" ... a stop gap to the glacial agenda of the GOP, who have been seeking a total repeal of The New Deal since Reagan.

Given our current economic/social climate, that's just not good enough.

I hope that there is some Dem or Independent politico to throw their hat in the ring and at least change the dynamics of the upcoming campaigns in favor to the hard working Americans. But given how the old guard in both parties seem intent upon wringing out the last drops of power and control during their remaining years, that is a slim hope.

But hope does spring eternal. :|

I agree Joe needs to go and so does trump. We need new blood

Neither Trump nor Biden should run. Trump is far too aggravating and divisive. Biden is a senile idiot who is little more than a front man for the radical Leftists in his administration who are absolutely wrecking the country.

If you've paid attention, you'd note that a LOT of Biden's actions don't sit well with progressives, independents and even some die hard Democrats. And to be honest, the MAGA mantra that he inherited a paradise from Dump is just utter nonsense.

As for the Orange Oaf, he just rubber stamped the same agenda that went down with the Shrub, Shrub's daddy and Reagan. That left a bad taste in the country's mouth, to say the least. Covid didn't help matters, much less the country's response by the medical establishment and Dump.

But in essence, we agree that neither Dump or Uncle Joe should have a second term.

I'd say whatever the condition of the country, foreign policy, and the economy Biden inherited from Trump was, he--BIDEN--has made it worse. There isn't a single positive in anything Biden's done since the day he took office. He's made quite literally, EVERYTHING worse.

I see Trump as being too controversial and grating to be a good President. He could do some great thing and people would still hate him for it. Part of being President is that people should at least be able to tolerate you, even if they don't like what you're doing.

Biden on the other hand is a massive trainwreck. The guy fucks up everything he touches. He's got the Crapper Touch. On top of that, he's a major asshole in a different way from Trump. Trump is a chest thumping braggard who grates on you. But you can insult him to his face and he'll shrug it off as if it were nothing. Biden on the other hand tells wild "fish" stories about his life, and brags about his accomplishments. You tell him to his face he's wrong or full of it, and he instantly throws an angry curse laden tantrum about how you are wrong even as everybody around him KNOWs he is full of shit wrong.

Biden is stupid, and he's incompetent enough not to know for a second he's a stupid incompetent.

All you've done is just regurgitate the SOS that MAGA mooks do. I can't help but think that you are being wholly sarcastic in your description of the Orange Oaf's demeanor. His thin skin is practically legendary on an international scale. To say otherwise is sheer denial of reality. If you like, I can LIST you the number of times Dump's fragile ego has done the country a disservice. Or you can live in MAGA revisionism.

And like I said, I've got bones to pick with Biden (hell, I didn't even vote for him). But he did do some good stuff (i.e., The Inflation Reduction Act).

Look, I don't expect you to do anything but parrot the MAGA mantras and talking point and NEVER concede a point to the contrary. Let's just agree that NEITHER Dump or Uncle Joe should have a second term, and let it go at that.

Voting for Trump again?

Except the Inflation Reduction Act didn't reduce inflation, in fact it likely contributed to it.

If you look at what the bill does, it is all subsidies and spending. There is no paydown of anything in it. Many of the spending line items are also set as recurring items, like expanded Medicare and shoring up subsidies for Obamacare.

A letter sent to House and Senate leadership from 230 economists argues that the Inflation Reduction Act is expected to contribute to skyrocketing inflation and will burden the U.S. economy, contrary to President Biden and Democrats' claims.

"It's not likely to have a major effect on inflation in the next few months," Akabas said.
Some experts, like Kent Smetters, faculty director of the Penn Wharton Budget Model, do not expect a significant impact in the next few years.

You can't spend your way out of a deficit, nor can you spend your way to wealth. The proof is that while inflation has gone down a small amount, it is still about double what it was before Biden took office and fucked things up.

So, the IRA is a fail, not a success.

Sorry, but "not likely" and "is expected" is not a "fail", since it hasn't been fully implemented yet. Mind you, it ain't perfect by a long shot. But it's NOT as the MAGA bullhorn blurts. Case in point:

Scott Overstates Tax Increases in Inflation Reduction Act

For me, however, it's too much of the SOS involved to do any real progressive course change. One of the reasons why I'm dreading a possible 2nd term for Uncle Joe.
