Dominium, at least partly settled because, in a settlement, they get paid off immediately. If they went to judgment, Fox could have appealed and dragged it out until everyone at Dominion died of old age.

Exactly and that's what fox should have done. Then dominion would have said "Ok - give us 2 million now and it's over." But fox didn't do that for some reason!

Same thing with the george floyd settlement of $27 million. The city could have insisted on a trial and appeals process that would take 10 years and the floyd family would have settled for say $500,000.
