Florida gay pride parade canceled after anti-drag show law passes

Why would they cancel the parade if there was going to be nothing objectionable?

Maybe you should get someone to read you the OP. "Safety" means protecting parade participants *and* attendees from bigotry, violence, and problems from haters like you.

It's understandable why they would want safety for everyone involved. It has become a hostile environment for the LGBT folks.

I don't see any mention of out of the ordinary safety concerns... it does mention that other activities are going to be 21 and up so there must be a reason for that...All parades have police protection... it sounds like maybe the one that they had planned might not have been under 21 friendly...our gay pride parade attracts gubdreds of thousands to the area... as with any local parade there's always a lot of police protection there's also a family-friendly area for the kids to hang out as the parade can get rather outrageous at times...;) Most parades throw candy or stuffed animals... the gay events are a little different...;)
