Florida gay pride parade canceled after anti-drag show law passes

Officials in a southeast Florida city have canceled a gay pride parade and restricted other pride events to people 21 years and older in anticipation of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signing a bill meant to keep children out of drag shows.

The Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast posted Wednesday on Facebook that the decision to change this Saturday’s Pridefest events was made after multiple conversations with Port St. Lucie officials. The city is located about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of West Palm Beach.

“We hope that everyone understands that this is definitely not what we wanted at all and are working with the city to assure our safety as well as produce a positive event,” the post said.

It's understandable why they would want safety for everyone involved. It has become a hostile environment for the LGBT folks.

I hope they are planning the next parade that is acceptable.

I thought Disney was gonna host a LBGTWhatever parade?
 
Florida is a total humiliation to the republic.
I hope that their tourism industry dries up and dies.

It probably won't because not enough Americans are principled,
but it should.
 
Anyone ask why drag queens want to be around children or even more curious, why do parents want their kids to be exposed to these freak shows?

Clothing isn’t weaponry


I would rather a kid see gay men in drag dancing down the street than see racists with guns screaming about how much they HATE BROWN CHILDREN AND WANT TO SHOOT THEM

It won’t dry up

It will be submerged in sea water and battered by more and more massive storms
