It also is not a sign, as the OP hopes, that climate change is a hoax. lol
It's a relic of what was once the largest freshwater lake in the western US, but was drained in the 1800s so that the rich soils of the lake bed could be farmed. It will probably dry up by the end of the summer. The only real economic consequences from it are taking some farm land temporarily out of production.
Unusual weather disproves climate change? Just the opposite.
