Consumer prices rose at the slowest pace since May 2021 as inflation showed further signs of easing in March, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Wednesday morning.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) revealed headline inflation rose 0.1% over last month and 5.0% over the prior year in March, a slowdown from February's 0.4% month-over-month increase and 6% annual gain.

Both measures were slightly better than economist forecasts of a 0.2% month-over-month increase and 5.1% annual increase, according to data from Bloomberg.

Unfortunately, the inflated price of oil and gas is going to reverse this.

Gas is climbing each week by double digits, and oil hasn't even spiked.

++Oh Gee Biden said we still had a COVID pandemic going on but inflation SHOT up in his first 12 months in office.

:lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup::lolup:
Duh. Biden saved America. The economy started up again.

But the damage from trump's import taxes on the middle class finally came to fruition.

Inflation started in certain sectors when trump was still in office due to his incompetence.

Right now, many of our former trade partners have found other avenues for goods. China now accounts for 40% of Brazil's exports. They were more than happy to dump American soy products and shop in Brazil.

trump is stupid.

IT did NOT DROP; IT GREW AT A SOMEWHAT SLOWER RATE.

Deflation is a disaster, far worse than inflation. So let's all say a quiet thank you that we are not having deflation.

We want a low level of inflation, about 2%. The inflation rate is dropping down to 2%, which is good.

GREAT!!!! Now it is only 3.5 TIMES as high as it was when Trump left office.

and inflation will jack again. while this is not bad news, careful evaluating just how significant it is. Jobs are collapsing as expected and we are closer to the big recession needed to turn the tide. Even the Fed is saying that. Cuts continue through the end of the year. maybe well into 2024.

Still more than double what it was pre-Biden...

Still more than double what it was pre-Biden...
Terry, why do you ignore the consequences of COVID?

You bitched and whined about Obama in the post-Recession world yet not a peep about GW who put us in Iraq, did nothing about the pending Housing and Banking problems. I know you aren't stupid which means you are either sinking into dementia or are lying. I doubt you are lying and tend to think you truly believe what you post.

Because Biden was as bad, or worse, at handling it as Trump was. The recovery was Biden's to fuck up entirely, and he did a stellar job of fucking it up with his Greentard push.

Do you think trump would have fought inflation? I think he would have fought for inflation, because he would not have been willing to accept a recession as payment for ending inflation.

Two thirds of the inflation was trump's fault, so he has that problem too.

Trump denied there was virus, Terry. Don't you remember that?
