I dont know what happened yet but I will say that revealing state secrets which prove that the people have been lied to is heroic. The leaders have our permission to keep secrets, they do not have either the permission or the right to lie to us.
There are channels for whistleblowing. Releasing documents to your online gaming community to show off is not one of them.

While I was only joking, and knew better, when I was at the Naval War College for a wargame (I weaseled my way in as "Tech support" being a Chief) I was ordered not to show the enlisted techs doing the computer support how to take over the system (It was a UNIX based system and I knew several ways to do that if you had access to the system directly--no details here for good reason obviously). I ended up on the "Red" (bad guys) team each time. I got good reviews in the Naval War College Review indirectly for causing major problems for the "Good guys" (Blue). Since sinking the carrier (and Admiral) were not going to happen I got my side to ignore them and focus on stuff that they could kill...)
I'd say the officers playing red, usually junior and not connected were very grateful for my advice.
Some of the senior officers on "Blue" actually gave me their business cards (many were reservists) and asked me to play against them outside of the official games. Still have them too.

Often low level people are just ignored, and no one realizes that they have access to as much as they do. I do not know whether that is the case here, but it certainly has happened before.
