I drive a pick up, like virtually all my neighbors do, and can just grab one of several 5 gallon gas cans...well not the one for diesel... and I'm good to go. Much safer than charging a highly flammable battery in my garage...

US: All-Electric Car Sales Surged In January 2023 - 7% Market Share

Mar 18, 2023 at 10:06am
Electrification of cars in the United States significantly accelerated in early 2023, according to the latest reports for the month of January.

According to the registration data from Experian (via Automotive News), out of 1.24 million new light vehicles registered in January, some 87,708, or 7.1 percent were all-electric. That's a 74 percent increase year-over-year and a noticeable change, compared to a 4.3 percent share in January 2022. The 7.1 percent share is also a step change from 5.6 percent in the 12 months of 2022.
It's clear that the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment is booming.

BEV registrations in January 2023:

Tesla (57% BEVs): 49,917 (up 34% from 37,128)
Non-Tesla (43% BEVs): 37,791 (up 186% from 13,210)
Total: 87,708 (up 74% from 50,338) and 7.1% share (up from 4.3%)
Tesla remains the largest player in the BEV segment in the US, with nearly 50,000 units in January and a 57 percent share.

Joey wets panties but not enough to put out the fire.

Toyota engineered the SUV to prioritize battery longevity, a spokesperson said, which means putting a damper on fast charging, which can accelerate battery wear.

On the way down to DC, I pulled into an Electrify America station with a 37% charge, looking to add just enough energy to make it the rest of the way. The Toyota refused to pull more than 35 kW, so just getting to 74% took a full 45 minutes of waiting around — not exactly something you want to do at night when you still have hours of driving ahead of you.

That stint added 95 miles of range, according to the SUV's estimates. But highway speeds sap energy quickly, so in real-world terms, it was probably more like 75.

45 minutes of fueling for 75 miles of driving is not going to work.

US EV Sales Hit New Record, And People Are Buying More

EVs are gaining in popularity in the US, thanks in part to more affordable vehicles.

Electric vehicles made up 7.1% of car sales in January 2023, a jump from 4.3% during the same time period last year, InsideEVs reports. Total car sales, gas and electric, remained on-par with the past two years, meaning EVs are a standout growth area in the automotive industry.

Poor FawkEwe10.
Another MAGA moron needs a Butthurtectomy because EVs continue to break more sales records.

Electric vehicle don't suck.
They're good cars getting gradually better.

Their problem is that they don't sound like a high compression V8.
Life in the future is obviosuly going to suck big time.

The 45 minutes to charge for 75 miles of driving real world story omits the waiting for a charger time, which can be huge. The stress added and thus experience degraded is mentioned.

The apparent lack of demand for EV's indicates to me that real world stories are getting around which disputes the Regimes claim that EV's are awesome.

EV's being very suboptimal for intercity travel sounds like a feature not a bug as WEF/CCP has been very clear that most are to stay in their 15 minute cities. Only those with permits from the Regime will be free of that restriction, these permits will often be narrowly defined, like for work only.

1 plane trip with limits every two years for those with qualifying social credit scores will be allowed according to current thinking.

Is that what FoxNews told you because last time I was on a road trip, I charged my Tesla Model Y 120 miles in 20 minutes.

Did you ever wonder why every Automobile Manufacturer now makes electric vehicles and EV sales are breaking new sales records every year?

15 minute cities already in the UK.
