Trump keeps repeating "$83 billion in equipment" lie

I mean, Trump establishes and repeats MANY lies, but it's really indicative of how little regard he has for the truth that he just keeps repeating this one.

We only spent $24 billion in equipment in total since 2001 in Afghanistan, much of which was obsolete by the time we left. He takes that $83 billion figure from the budget to build, train and equip Afghan security forces.

He simply doesn't care. The truth? Not something to be taken seriously, or respected.

I'm no math whiz - but I'm guessing if they only spent $24 billion on equipment, they didn't leave close to 4x that amount worth of equipment.

The Pentagon has long had no interest in doing proper accounting....sure that is what they say was spent on equipment to arm the Afgans....but there is no reason to expect that this number is correct. Then too there is all the stuff that was left that was never on Afghanistan's inventory, it was ours. I happen to know that there was some extremely valuable sensitive stuff that just barely made it out, there is every reason to expect that many billions of dollars worth of stuff was left in addition to what the Pentagon claims it left....these are not people who are in the habit of telling the truth....they tell us what they want us to hear.

So, you're skeptical of their #'s....but you're taking Trump's "$83 billion" at face value?

Do you have any details to back up Trump's figure?

Trump is lying, and I dont like it, but I mind more that the Pentagon simply refuses to do honest accounting, and that our government lies to us constantly. They for instance lied to us from start to finish about the Afghanistan mission, over 20 years nobody in power was willing to tell us the truth.

That's fair. Skepticism of our gov't is certainly warranted.

HshahahahahHhHahaha

Now this traitor is hating on the pentagon

There is nothing about America the republicans like

for fiscal year 2021, auditors were unable to account for a whopping 61% of the Pentagon’s assets.

One example from 2018 illustrates just how beneficial an audit can be. During the 2018 Pentagon audit, the Navy discovered a warehouse they didn’t know existed. The warehouse contained $126 million in aircraft parts the Navy needs to maintain and repair several aircraft, including ones that had not been in service for more than a decade.

It's a shocking story that certainly has me wondering what other stockpiles the Pentagon has lost track of that haven’t been discovered in an audit.

One silver lining of COVID is that now the people have no excuse for not comprehending the extent to which our government lies to us and otherwise betrays us.

Trump wouldn't know the truth if it ran over him in a cement truck. He's a chronic liar.

He's a sociopathic con man with limited scope....basically he's a preposterous figure who's sole hold on part of the American voting populace is fear, prejudice, hate & selfishness.
