Typically Presidents go to the scenes of tragedies to comfort the bereaved. Dr. Biden went in Pres. Biden's stead to console the survivors of the Nashville school massacre.

Being invited to the White House is a thing done to honor various people for various things. What should the school shooting survivors be honored for?

They were invited to help bring attention to a national issue. We have another grave national issue now -- the gun pandemic. If Biden wants to bring attention to this issue and to gun reform, inviting them would be a political move, not a compassionate one. Same thing as with Mr. Floyd's family.

Do you really want those bereaved people dragged in front of the public to promote a political agenda?

I see. Because people are (inexplicably at this point) shocked, horrified, saddened, and scared for their own kids, and express that, it's suddenly "political." Guess you haven't noticed that as soon as there's a new school massacre, you Reichwingers instantly declare that the murderer was a 1) Democrat, 2) insane, 3) played too many video games, 4) was a legal American gun owner. But that's not making it "political," right?

Why should two nobody state representatives who did NOTHING but stage a meaningless, whiny protest get such treatment?

It's much more what they symbolize. Not sure if you have noticed, but many on the GOP side no longer value democracy or the principles our republic was founded upon. They just want to rule - they don't care what voters think, or about opposing viewpoints. They just want to dictate to Americans, unfettered.
