Diesel supply in US at 25 days

Probably 50-70 years. And it's not much of an energy plan to say that when that happens, we'll just use coal or whatever.

Consumers aren't involved w/ future planning for sustainability. Consumers will always generally go for the cheapest source. The "market" isn't going to save us if we run out of oil. It will take much too long to transition the infrastructure at that point.

Oil will not run out instantaneously. As it becomes more rare, the price will increase to a point that alternatives become economically viable.

There is tons of deep oil. It is just more expensive to drill for.

I appreciate that response, Bigdog. I think we will still be in trouble if we wait for it to be clear that we're starting to run low - but I'm not so sure of that position to contend you're wrong on that. It's a thoughtful counter-argument.

Nationwide diesel prices are on the way up, not a good sign.

Nationwide diesel prices went up by 1.6 cents last week. If that keeps up, it will be 84 cents more expensive next year, but we all know it is about to drop. Diesel prices are dropping in some regions, and the over production will spread out over the next week.

gawd almighty. Biden fucks up everyting he touches

Yes, it has been four months since we ran out of diesel, all because of Biden. Most non-Republicans do not even realize that we ran out of diesel. They are so obsessed with reality, they refuse to believe your fantasies.

It has now been 5 months since we ran out of diesel. There is no food.... Actually, there is plenty of food, and plenty of diesel. I just like reminding everyone that Republican predictions are almost always wrong.

Saudis, other oil giants announce surprise production cuts

You think diesel (and all oil related product) prices have stabilized? Think again.
And Biden bled our strategic oil reserve and cut American oil production.

I am 52 years old, and I can safely say that except for maybe the first two years of my life, oil prices have never been stable. The absolute worst was trump having oil prices go negative. That has been an absolute disaster.

I don't care how old you are. Those price drops were good for both the economy and all fuel/oil using citizens.

BTW, Diesel went up .14c since last week. How much will it go up next week? The week after?

A stable low price is good for most of the economy, but not all. A negative price is a disaster for everyone.

Once again, did not happen. Diesel prices went down from $4.238 to $4.207. That is a drop of 3.1 cents.

Wally, you are an idiot. Explain how a plentiful oil supply and corresonding low transportation costs are bad for Americans.

When prices go negative, the producers stop investing, and start going bankrupt. That leads to much higher prices in the future. A steady low price is good, but a negative price is not steady. It is, sooner or later, a disaster for everyone.

I hope that simple explanation helps you understand.

Not true. When Trump was in office, the US dictated oil prices and we sold our wares all over the world. Don't fret about some fracking wells that were shut down in No. Dak. you alt lefties hate fracking. Get your shit in a row. I did not hear you bitch when brandon promised to eliminate oil production.

Biden has been writing all the major refineries and oil companies about this for about 2 years now, asking them to refine more Gasoline and Diesel in their refinery distillations. I am not talking about the availability of crude oil, but in the way it is being distilled!

However, the canary in the CRUDE OIL and inflation, has always been the diesel oil. The oil companies and refineries did step up the production of gasoline, but never really stepped up the refinement of diesel, and this in itself is one of the main reasons for the extremely high inflation the US has been having to deal with.

The refineries and Oil Companies have been pulling a fast one over on the consumers and the Biden Administration, by intentionally making more gasoline than diesel, that does keep the price of gasoline low, but making up for it by intentionally making diesel less available and the profits for it extremely higher which is crushing us with unnecessary inflation.

So, I do not think the Oil Companies and Refineries are going to be able to get by with this very much longer now that "THE OIL COMPANIES AND THE REFINERIES" are the blame for this growing Diesel shortage and now crisis. The public is getting even more outraged by this, and will be siding with the president on this now.

Look for the distillation rates of Gasoline vs. Diesel at the refineries to change now, or the president will have to enforce that they do through an XO!

Yes, it's time for the Oil Companies to stop playing politics and become responsible Businessmen!

When trump was in office, demand for oil plummeted due to the pandemic. Are you saying the pandemic was trump's fault/credit?

Whether you are or are not, you cannot deny that trump allowed too much oil to go to the refineries at once, which made the price go negative. It was a disaster.

And I mean you cannot deny it. If anyone outside the White House tries to coordinate the oil market, it is called market manipulation, and is a crime. The President and his delegates are the only people in America allowed to tell oil producers to cut back on oil being sent to the refineries. trump wanted to tell everyone they could produce as much as they wanted, and it caused a market failure.

Screwyou alt lefties and the china virus. That gift from the Chinese only affected Trump's last year in office. During Trump's administration, the world was at relative peace, we had low energy prices, the dollar was stable, the stock market was strong, the border was being secured, China was shitting its pants over tariffs, Trump was forcing NATO to "pay their fair share", and I am missing a full other dozen reasons things were running smoothly. THEN along comes brandon and we are all fucked over his policies. What is wrong with you alt lefties that you cannot understand what a buffoon you put in office. Was it the mean tweets or just your visceral hatred for the fact things were running along pretty smoothly?
