Mass Shooting Follies: Republican rhetoric

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
If anyone tries to sell you some current political gun lobby flunky talking points (and lies) regarding the weapons used in mass shootings (i.e., Tennessee), just get a load of the tremendous amount of horse manure shoveled by Ken Buck (R) of Colorado. The commentary by Brian Tyler Cohen is beautiful. Enjoy!

What's your plan to prevent this in the future?

What's your plan to prevent this in the future?

1. Vote out assholes like Buck.

2. Bring back the 1994 AWB.

3. Stop the blocking of concise federal funding for mental health programs and facilities.

4. Make 7 day waiting period and universal background checks (including mental health status) a federal law.

5. Treat gun purchases as you would purchasing a car (passing a competency test, licensing and registration).

I'm not sure how any of those would prevent future events like this but ok.

Let's also put the same number of restrictions on every other right

So, totally unconstitutional things.

Yeah, you're a commie shitbag.

All reasonable suggestions with which I honestly concur.
And if this weren't America, they could possibly be adopted.

why do you authoritarian assholes stop at a measly federal law when you can force your views on an entire globe?

you are a small time thinking shit stain.

Think it through: 1 - Buck and those like him talk the SOS and grand stand like the ignorant yahoos in the general public that vote him in....over the years, this nonsense he blathers and demonstrates has NOT prevented the ANNUAL mass shootings.
2 - The majority of the weapons of choice used in mass shootings since 2004 were formerly on the 1994 AWB list.
3 - The default mantra gun lobby flunkies in Congress use is that mental health is the issue that needs to be addressed ... yet these same jokers vote AGAINST and proposal for such funding EVERY TIME.
4 - If EVERY gun shop/dealer in the country had a 7 day waiting period (including mental health reports), people like the Tennessee would NOT have gotten those weapons.
5 - Currently in some states, all you need is a driver's license to purchase a weapon with cash and you can walk out that day with the weapon. Not so with a car, as you need proof of a license to drive, fill out proof of purchase and ownership transfer of the registered vehicle. Apply this to guns, and you discourage criminal "straw man" purchases and a damned better scrutiny in personal sales.

WTF are you babbling about? Nothing I propose prevents a law abiding citizen from purchasing that weapon....but if you're comfortable with deranged individuals easily obtaining assault weapons, then that pretty much says it all for the mindset of a LOT of gun lobby flunkies. You're pathetic.

Please explain how anything I proposed is unconstitutional? After all, LAWS are passed constitutionally through the 3 branches of gov't. Now I want fact based, logical explanations of your assertion, Matty .... not the usual half assed drunken MAGA babble you think is on par. If you can't, then I'll dump you back on the ignore list for a month and watch you hound my posts & threads like an attention seeking bitch.

Are you sure that actually happened? I have my doubts.

 You have no credibility when it comes to the MAGA Orange God and his minions, Guillermo. So your "doubts" are of no concern.

My doubts should be of concern because I have more knowledge and intelligence than you. However, I know you're inclined to disagree with everything I say. OK, let me say this, in the not too distant future the military or the cops will come to your neighborhood and tell you to come out into the street because there has been some sort of emergency that requires evacuation. You will need to be moved to a central location "for your protection."

Don't do it. Evade them. So, please disregard that because I said it and let them "take care of you."

"What should be done about gun violence?"

"Southern border!"

Republicans are the dumbest people on Earth.

My responses sentence for sentence:

1) A chilidish attempt at a retort.

2) A lie, as there is the rare occasion that we do agree on a point. It's called the "broken clock" syndrome.

3) Pure right wing wonk speculation that has been floated around for a LONG time (teabaggers, fibbertarians, MAGA mooks, alt-right rummies).

4) More gibberish as a follow-up to #3.

Bottom line: you blew smoke to evade conceding that the OP was dead on target, and you can't debunk or refute it logically and/or factually.
