Disney Blows A Fart In DeSantis' General Direction

Disney was clearly much smarter than Meatball Ron, who relies on hysterics when he crafts illegal legislation. He needed a Mulligan after Disney celebrated the transfer of billions in debt. to Fla. taxpayers. After the do over, taxpayers are safe for now.

BUT...as the date neared for the 'Lil Meatballs' to take over the board of Reedy Creek, the old board left them a parting gift.

In their final days of controlling the Reedy Creek improvement district’s board, Disney executives and attorneys found a way to poison the authority of the incoming members appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and effectively oversee the area’s development.
On Feb. 8, 2023, as the Florida House was passing legislation to give DeSantis his new power, Reedy Creek’s board members signed a development agreement with the company that allowed Disney maximum developmental power over its territory for the next 30 years.

According to the new board members, who are now known as the Central Florida Tourism Oversight board, and their attorneys, Disney is allowed the maximum possible density and building heights inside Walt Disney World. Other property owners will need Disney’s permission to expand within the district, and they and Reedy Creek leaders will need to seek Disney’s approval if they made any aesthetic changes to their properties within the district.
The district is also not allowed to permit advertisements of any companies that compete with ones that operate within Reedy Creek, board members said.

According to the article, this is all above board, and cannot be successfully challenged in court.

Further, I believe any challenge would be in a court that isn't stacked in Meatball's favor.

Time will tell. Reporters may try to be honest, but they are not always correct. I expect Ron to fight it even if he knows he'll probably lose.

Meatball Ron thought he avoided the multi billion dollar tax bill he created when he attacked Disney.

This won't be billions, but it's money that would be much better spent incarcerating trans children.

Meatball Ron is too stupid to pull strings. He's more interested in pissing off Liberals for political gain.

He never thought any of this through, which is evidenced by the various special sessions required to fine tune the attack on Disney. At first, he cost Fla. taxpayers billions. Then he pulled a 'never mind', but still installed his board of clowns to supposedly oversee the old Reedy Creek.


Truth is, Florida had a real deal when Disney was funding all aspects of Reedy Creek. Disney remained silent while slowly taking the necessary steps to give themself full control over their domain.

Meatball Ron is seething. He never makes smart decisions when he's angry.

Lawyers are always the winners.

I see this as simple. DeSantis tried and failed to harm Disney for political purposes. Now he's scrambling to scrape egg off of his face as a calm and collected army of Disney lawyers laughs and points at him.

This isn't a national problem. This is a Florida clusterfuck. Unless the RNC is praying that Meatball beats trump in the primary? I find it fascinating that Republicans know that they should dump trump, but they just can't put the needle down and get sober.

How many times did the RNC and Republicans in general have the opportunity to get rid of trump? Two impeachments and numerous legal issues that just get ignored.

Now a tiny majority of MAGAmorons in the House is doubling down on trumpism.

This is crazy.

He's already hired the high priced lawyers I referenced today. Florida Democrats should be informing state residents every day that this is costing them a fortune.
