Colorado orders Medical MJ dispensers to pay taxes

it used to be OTC allergy medicine. why should one need a trial?
It's OTC based on a set of assumptions in some medical study. If those assumptions are wrong and folks are using it as not intended that there should be an investigation. Case in point: allergy medicines used as an ingredient for illegal drugs.

and in typical cut throat law and order fashion of your right wind ideologue fashion, you eviscerate the majority for punishment of the minority abuse.

question: if 2 liter bottles are now being used to home grow meth, do we need to restrict them now? can we have an automatic life sentence for someone that buys 6 2-liter sodas without a tax stamp?

In typical Libertarian fashion you create a straw man argument. How do you make meth out of bottles?

Maybe if you studied prohibition the causes and affects you'd be more pro legalization.
I venture I'm more anti-tax than you'll ever be. Prob cause I pay double what you do.
Nobody's rioting against beer and cig taxes

The drug itself hasn’t changed, but the process of making it has, according to Chief Deputy Jack Campbell of the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office. Meth stoves, or “labs” — often converted coolers — are being traded for plastic bottles with the newfound prevalence of what authorities have termed “shake-and-bake” methamphetamine.

“It’s basically self-contained,” Campbell said. “Everything is put into a plastic jug or two-liter soda bottle, and when they shake it up, they don’t let it settle out. They pour that liquid through a coffee filter.”

are you confusing me with southernman? because there's no other explanation for why your post makes zero sense.

They are starting to about the cig taxes.

I don't have a problem with these "sin" taxes. (Don't bother me with attacks on this euphemism, pull-eze.) Take tax on booze for example. A little bit of booze is a great thing, but its overuse isn't, and exacts a toll on society. A tax should therefore discourage its overuse, and the revenue should at least cover the societal costs. Make the tax too low and these costs are not covered; make the tax punitive and scofflaws are encouraged, actually increasing the burden on society.

you believe in taxation as a form of societal engineering?

you are not a conservative. you're a totalitarian.

So they're used as containers, not an essential ingredient. I don't see your point.

i'll try this again, slowly.

allergy meds used to be OTC.

Now, because a ingredient that relieves allergy symptoms was found to be useful in the making of an illicit drug, they are no longer OTC.

so equating the single ingredient in a OTC medicine as being necessary to now regulate the sales of allergy relief medicine is the same as meth makers using 2 liter bottles instead of empty coolers should lead to regulating the sales of refreshments in 2 liter bottles.

after all, how much allergy medicine would one need to buy to manufacture a suitable quantity of meth for large scale sales?
