California Gov. Gavin Newsom is staying silent as his state considers doling out potentially hundreds of billions of dollars to Black residents in reparations as a way to make amends for slavery and subsequent discrimination.

Newsom, a Democrat, has yet to take a position or comment publicly on the prospect of his state potentially enacting a slew of recent reparations proposals that are gaining steam in California. The governor's office didn't respond to any of Fox News Digital's repeated requests for comment regarding his views on the issue and whether he's considered taking executive action to implement the plans being discussed if the California Legislature doesn't act.

The California Reparations Task Force, which was created by state legislation signed by Newsom in 2020, is considering a proposal to give just under $360,000 per person to approximately 1.8 million Black Californians who had an ancestor enslaved in the U.S., putting the total cost of the program at about $640 billion.......

Why is he silent? Should he do it? It's only $640 billion.

Even if it passes the state legislature, it will probably face court challenges for eternity.

What's the mechanism to prove you had an ancestor that was a slave? Is it skin color? How about labrenda James does he get a check?

It's more than that!
Everyone that thinks they can get away with it will claim 'black heritage', and 'past slavery'.
The proposal also means a free house in addition to the $360,000 per person.

The plan is to simply steal the money from the so-called 'white oppressors', meaning anyone that doesn't claim reparations.

War cannot be avoided now.

Why would they do that. California was never a slave state. Surely they need to pay reparations.

I would assume that would be at least partial basis for any legal challenges.

That and the fact that the state is attempting to force people who never did anything, to pay restitution to people they never did anything to.

Doesn't sound particularly legal to me.

If the state government were to pass it, the courts should mandate that all the money to fund it should come out of the salaries of the state's elected officials.

The crazy thing is negroz have been getting reporashuz for 50 years in the form of welfare and make-work affirmative action jobs and it hasn't done them a bit of good. They just keep falling further behind. The only answer is AFRICA.
