Actually a dog is trained. Like AI and computer programs: bias can be trained into a dog just like bias can be programmed into software.

One study (THIS ONE) found that drug detection dogs can "cue" off of their handlers beliefs.

While it sounds goofy when Fox News highlights it, it may actually be signaling an issue that needs to be addressed in the use of police dogs.

Dogs are no more inherently "racist" than a chair is, but if the handler cues the dog (even subconsciously) then it's a problem.

Its not the dog's fault that the criminals are more often black or hispanic. They just go after the bad guys. And very effectively as we can see.
