US Navy SEALS would not go deep into a nuclear armed country, to within a few miles of their nuclear command center, without the direct orders of the President of the USA. Nor would the US Navy SEALS have even known where to go without the intelligence community find Bin Laden. The specific Bin Laden Team, that Bush tried to disband twice, and did actually disband once, found Bin Laden. Who reconstituted the Bin Laden Team to find Bin Laden? Obama.

In short, Obama was the one who gave the order to kill Bin Laden. An order he would not have given had Bin Laden been an ally.

It must cause you RWers hideous pain to give Obama even a shred of credit for anything. As Commander in Chief, he issued the order for them to go in and take out Bin Laden. Therefore he gets credit for removing one of America's greatest enemies from the face of the Earth. It's kind of like Truman gets credit for ending World War II because as CiC, he gave the order to use the nuclear weapons on Japan to force their surrender. Truman did not personally fly the Enola Gay and drop the bomb(s). :rolleyes:

If it had been a murder, Obama would have been guilty of murder for ordering the killing, and the Navy SEALS(it is all capitals) would have been guilty of murder for executing the killing. Both the person who ordered it and the people who executed it are considered the killers.

While Obama was a much more politically conservative Democrat than I am, I really miss his dignity.
Presidents from both parties have gotten far too informal for my tastes.
Obama had a little bit of that old fashioned formality that I like to see.

Some people like a president with whom they'd be comfortable having a beer.
I like a president who acts like a president.
