He's afraid of the Turd's base; the Pedo Nazis, WSE terrorists and other violent nutjobs who would show up at every DeSantis rally screaming against him.

This is one reason why I think there's a silver lining to Trump calling for violence if he's indicted; it brings out the violent nutjobs who can be identified and arrested or shot in the act of terrorism.

Notice that not a single JPP Trumper plans to attend any Trump event. I❤Irony

If Trump runs, I suspect they will lose. If DeSantis or any other Republican runs, I think the odds favor a Republican President.

Good analyses. But the Republicans who are afraid to call out Trump might eventually pay a price if nominated.

IMO, it's a long way to July 2024 and Trump has a lot of court cases lined up against him.

If Trump gets his wish with Trump terrorists hitting the streets and murdering Americans, the result will be Americans turning against Trump.

IMHO, I'd say he's hedging his bets....he's doing a fairly good job with securing some of the MAGA crowd with book banning and migrant shipping antics, but if he totally disses the Orange Oaf, he'll lose that loyalty base and perhaps a portion of the GOP that is still waffling around the MAGA issue to a degree (i.e., McConnell). Also, his chances of become POTUS is largely dependent on Biden getting and being in good health to get the nomination.
