“WASHINGTON (AP) — The Manhattan district attorney investigating Donald Trump rebuffed House Republicans’ request Thursday for documents and testimony about the case, dismissing it as an “unprecedented inquiry” with no legitimate basis.”

“The Republican chairmen of three House committees on Monday sent a letter to Bragg seeking information about his actions in the Trump case.”

“In a letter obtained by The Associated Press, the general counsel for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg slammed the congressional request as “an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty.”

“The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene,” Leslie Dubeck wrote in the letter. “Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry.”

So obvious on their part, if Trump was indicted, his legal team would be handed all the evidence and what transpired, is the way the legal systems works

The last thing any member of a Grand Jury would want is little Jimmy Jordan getting possession of their names and addresses, they’d be attacked all over Fox the next day, and most likely receive death threats the day after

The peculiarities of this particular case, probably not, most likely did know Trump paid her off, but not the details on how, nor would he care if he did know

And he isn’t the most honest individual in the world, definitely belongs in the Trump inner circle

Actually, it has everything to do with it. The Manhattan DA is looking into what amounts to a federal election campaign fraud charge that was rejected in the federal courts and by the FEC. NY state has zero--ZERO--jurisdiction over federal elections. So, the DA is trying to go a route that is state based on a weak misdemeanor charge that would be bumped up to a felony only in the most extreme and egregious cases, and even then remain a minor felony.

That is to say, the Manhattan DA almost certainly has nothing.

The question then becomes, if that is true, what is the motivation behind pursuing this case to an indictment? That in turn has political motivation written all over it, and that then becomes a question of federal election interference by a state official.
