EVs are literally pieces of crap, especially after the first fender bender!

ALL moderncars are a piece of crap after a collision today, the means of propulsion being irrelevant.

They don't have full frames anymore. They're all throwaway unibodies.
They're designed to crush and absorb the blow rather than jolt the occupants.

Untrue

Not so. All passengers cars without exception are unibodies now.

The 2011 Lincoln Town Car was the last body-on-frame constructed passenger car,
and consequently, the last passenger car built properly [except for being underpowered].

Every car built today, including Rolls Royces and Ferraris, are throw-aways if they have any meaningful collision at all.

That's absolutely true.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee,
not because I like SUVs
but because nobody can build a decent sedan anymore.

Not even Cadillac or Lincoln.
I scoff at the incompetence of our emasculated auto industry.

I also have a 1962 Corvette which reminds me that at one time, America could build decent cars.
We're really in the shitter, now.

EV's it is now fairly clear are just not going to work. Maybe hydrogen will but gas powered are now so efficient that switching out to anything else makes little sense.

Not that this will stop our overlords from demanding the change.

In fact, EVs are gathering a larger and larger share of American auto sales. They are growing, getting better, they are also getting cheaper models, the infrastructure is being built and they are the future.

When are they going to start using solar and wind to generate the electricity to recharge all these cars? California can't meet the electricity needs they have today but will be able to charge all the cars they are demanding their citizens buy? I know you won't answer cowards never do.

EV batteries lack reparability leading some insurers to junk whole cars after even minor collisions

Unless reparability in EV batteries is addressed and fixed, the pile-ups will increase — and so too, will premiums, expert says

A scratched or slightly damaged electric battery might be enough for some insurers to write off entire cars, as for many electric vehicles there is no way to repair battery packs after collisions.

As a result, the consumer — who likely acquired an electric vehicle wanting to reduce monthly costs — faces higher premiums and some countries are starting to see electric vehicle batteries piling up in scrapyards, according to Reuters.

Matthew Avery, research director at automotive risk intelligence company Thatcham Research, said the goal of electric vehicles was sustainability, but a lack of reparability is creating a whole new problem.

"We're buying electric cars for sustainability reasons," Avery said, Reuters reported. "But an EV isn't very sustainable if you've got to throw the battery away after a minor collision."

I love 60-62 corvettes, bet you are proud of it. I had a 68 Plymouth GTX that I traded even for 2018 Hellcat, regretted it. don't even have the Hellcat anymore
