The choice in '24: Trump, or the future of the republic

No - that isn't melodramatic.

Trump tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. He has talked about eliminating the Constitution. He has consistently expressed disdain for the checks & balances established so brilliantly by our founders. He insults our allies and shows real envy and respect for strong-armed dictators.

He wants to be King. Give him a 2nd term, and he'll make that happen.

Republicans will vote for him because they absolutely love how he ticks off liberals. But I hope they think it through this time. There is more to elected leaders than the ability to infuriate the opposing party.

When you have the feeble minded choosing our leaders, you end-up with Crazy Trump.

The choice in 2024 is more likely to be between some Republican who isn't Trump and a senile retard Democrat named Biden.

Trump is the worst threat to the American experiment since the war of 1812. In that war, the Whitehouse got burned down. Trump hoped he could burn that capitol building to the ground.

No, it most certainly isn't. The worry about a trump win in '20 was that he would be free to destroy what was left of the nation without having to worry about the political aspects of his actions.

A trump win in '24 will be the second coming of Hitler.

I'm thinking that some patriot will take him out immediately.

True. But trump won in '16 because of those who didn't vote. Not those who did. '20 showed us that the nation is motivated to keep him out of the White House.

95% chance the GOP nominee is Trump. He is already even w/ DeSantis in most polls - and more candidates will split the anti-Trump vote.
Unless the candidates put their selfish aspirations aside and agree to step aside early to rally behind DeathSantis.

I'd HATE DeSantis as President. But at least he would be a relatively normal Republican. He wouldn't try to take down the country.

Trump is extremely dangerous. Everyone should see that at this point (they don't, but they should).

DeSantis cannot win on the national level. Each day that he opens his mouth, and rams through racist legislation he digs his grave a little deeper.

The majority of the nation rejects everything about him. It works in Fla. because Republicans have a stranglehold on the state govt.

Default Four more days....
Four more days until we throw the last shovel of dirt on top of the rotting corpse that used to be the Democrat party. What a GREAT day to be an American! A day of absolute celebration! Been a long time coming,.........in the end it was you and your own vile corruption that destroyed yourself. All we did was kick your carcasses into the hole and throw a little quick lime down so so dont stink the joint up so bad! Look on the bright side,.....maybe you can be like the Carter Democrats and come back in another 12-15 years or so. Pretty frikkin doubtful though,.... we already have the headstone all chiseled up for you.

He definitely could be. Any real American should dread the thought.

You love him simply because he ticks off liberals. You don't care about the Constitution. You have already stated on here that you don't care what our founders thought.
