If you're not woke, you're asleep

"Woke" is the current word for "political correctness" and does less than nothing to advance serious and legitimate progressive liberal causes in which I do believe.

It actually distracts from that.

Woke is nothing more or less than pandering to the neurotically hypersensitive, to the insincere mavens of righteous indignation, or to Gloria Allred's bitches on wheels.

I'm sorry, fellow Democrats, but these words are the honest truth. I would swear to it.

You actually speak a lot of truth here. It reached a tipping point where even many liberals would called someone a tool who walked around with their nose in the air proclaiming themselves to be politically correct.

Now it’s just been replaced with woke. But it’s more of a pronouncement than anything else. It’s easy to declare yourself woke because it doesn’t require you to do anything. It just makes you feel good and like you are on the “right side”.

But when people have to make changes to their lifestyles then all of a sudden “being woke” gets pushed to the wayside. Words are a lot easier than actions.

let's be fair......"woke" used to mean getting up in the morning......you redefined it, you made it into something stupid.......not our fault....I will agree though that we are better at communication (and everything else)........

America is better of for having so many different cultures. People who want to dominate are being unreasonable.

Live and let live. Treat everyone the same - with respect. That's a fair and balanced society.

You folks on the right like fair and balanced, right?

There's something wrong with me. Why don't I have Pollyanna on ignore like he/she/it has me?
And why do relatively ethnically homogenous nations like the Scandinavian ones make us appear to be so socially regressive on the global landscape?


Ethnic diversity is our reality, and for better or worse, we have to make it work. I won't argue that.
So far, however, we haven't found many reasons to celebrate it.

We would like to make changes such as teach our actual history in schools instead of whitewashing it. Gimme a chance to vote for that and I'll show you action behind the words. And I bet I'm not alone.

White supremacists who don't want confederate statues torn down are hypocrites when they say they don't want history erased but that is precisely what they support when it comes to the local school board and they don't want anything about slavery or mistreatment of blacks to be included in curricula.
