Forcing means mandating an end to new ICE vehicle sales by XXXX year. Forcing means placing such onerous taxes, and other restrictions on ICE vehicles as to make them unpurchasable by 99% of the population.

If the Democrats pass a bill banning new gas stoves they are making it such that when your current one wears out, and there are no replacement parts for it, or it is unrepairable, you will be forced to buy an electric replacement. Same thing.

Electric cars were around about 1900. They were not followed up and sat dormant for a century. They were completely ignored. Chevy tested an electric car in 1996. They kept it for 4 years and then abandoned it . In 2013, they made the Volt. Dude.
