An American Democratic politician says “intellectually bankrupt” politicians of the United States have made a nuclear war with Russia a realistic possibility.

Kentucky Democratic gubernatorial candidate Geoff Young told RT on Saturday that the electorate he has spoken to in his state are “sick of” seeing their tax dollars go to Ukraine.

However, American politicians, he said, are “separated from reality.”

“I think most of them are severely deluded about reality by decades of anti-Russian propaganda in our mainstream media,” he noted.

He said that “at this moment when humanity is threatened by a possible nuclear war.”

Young claimed that the Biden administration’s overarching goal has been to “strengthen Washington’s hold over our European so-called allies.”

“The Nord Stream bombing was a part of that strategy, designed to make Germany, the largest economy in Europe, totally dependent on the US,” he explained.

“For decades, Washington’s biggest nightmare has been that Germany and Russia would ally, have their economies complement each other… and make the United States irrelevant,” he stated.

It isn't that there are no decent US politicians- they are consistently blocked by AIPAC and the Evengelical Zionist media . And for what ? NATO is billed as a defensive force against Russia . When does NATO become an aggressive force ? When it threatens Russia by encroaching upon Russia's borders and interests .
How do we know this ? Because that's what NATO has done- and now there is a war.

Did Russia threaten any NATO countries ? No, Russia did not.

Was Russia being a friend to the EU and NATO countries ? Yes, Russia was.

Did the US NATO leadership object to this friendly union ? Yes, it did. It THREATENED its NATO partners with reprisals if the friendship continued.

Did the US NATO leadership act to prevent that growing relationship ? Yes, it passed anti-Russian laws, threatened to destroy the Nord Stream project and started a coup in Ukraine. Once started, it armed the pro-NATO faction of the Ukrainian civil war .

Were many Ukrainians killed as a result of this coup and influx of US armaments ? You bet. 14,000 between 2014 and 2020.

Is the notion that this war is Russia's fault horseshit ? Ripe. Steaming. Unadulterated.

Russophobia has turned otherwise intelligent Americans into spear-carriers for the military/industrial complex billionaires.

Bernie Sanders,

despite his advanced years,

is still one of the five or six existent people in this entire nation genuinely capable

of presiding over our government with adequate intellect, morality and craft.

It's nothing short of exasperating that only our most enlightened, imaginative, and intelligent citizens seem to realize this.

This is at the root of my pessimism for the future of this republic.
