The government paid me for services I rendered in return. That was the employment contract we agreed to. It wasn't "free" or something for nothing like welfare or Medicaid is, it was an agreed to set of employment conditions.

You are 100% correct. I recently took a hard look at my so called Medicare "benefits" and it was appalling. If Social Security is a Ponzi scheme Medicare is a bait and switch. I've paid into it my whole life, had ~ $2000/ yr. ($6000 total) deducted from my SS and received to date less than $1000 in benefits paid to providers. If you look closely at copays, deductibles, limitations and the lack of docs willing to accept Medicare , in total it's a joke.
So of course I cancelled my Medicare. All that money paid over the years into the mouth of gubmint never to be seen again. And what does the gubmint do with it? Spend more than they take in, go into more debt, IOW.
 
I have never had a problem getting a doctor to handle medicare Not once. Copays are at worst, 20 percent. That is 80 percent paid.
Social Security is in no way a Ponzi scheme. That is just so right wing wrong.

United Health Care is a great private company........I get mine from Priority Health......another great private company......I think its great that they can wrap around Medicare and still make a profit......
