It seems one FL senator has lost his mind

Before I post some of the shit you were posting about "election integrity" in 2020 and up to the 1/6 insurrection, I want to give you one more chance to come clean and be honest.

Do you accept that the 2020 election was legit, Biden won fair and square, there was no voter fraud, and Trump was lying when he said there was?

cuckoo cuckoo

The idea that the government can force you to register to exercise your rights online.

It's somewhat odd that the issue isn't obvious.

Yakuda is a fascist, alt reich MAGA moron. The only thing he cares about is annoying liberals. The Constitution means nothing to him.

What's wrong with it?

It's pretty much unenforceable. A blogger who gets paid for articles and lives in say, the UK, writes such an article. Florida has no jurisdiction over that. The most they could do is refer it to the federal government.

It's only a bill containing one really bad idea, that probably won't got anywhere, but....

Florida bill would require bloggers who write about governor to register with the state

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Sen. Jason Brodeur (R-Lake Mary) wants bloggers who write about Gov. Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and other members of the Florida executive cabinet or legislature to register with the state or face fines.

Brodeur’s proposal, Senate Bill 1316: Information Dissemination, would require any blogger writing about government officials to register with the Florida Office of Legislative Services or the Commission on Ethics.

In the bill, Brodeur wrote that those who write “an article, a story, or a series of stories,” about “the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, a Cabinet officer, or any member of the Legislature,” and receives or will receive payment for doing so, must register with state offices within five days after the publication of an article that mentions an elected state official.

If another blog post is added to a blog, the blogger would then be required to submit monthly reports on the 10th of each month with the appropriate state office. They would not have to submit a report on months when no content is published.

Even Newt Gingrich thinks this is a bad idea and said he should remove the bill.

A lot of bloggers get paid by advertisers by the click -- how on Earth do you quantify *that*? Whether it's a citizen just blowing off steam, or someone writing about govt. doings for a few bucks, it still falls under "speech" and for any govt. to try to quell it, is against the First Amendment. What if the blogger derives his/her income from donations? Will he/she be required to list all the donors and THEIR personal info?

Funny how silent the gun-humpers are about this. You know, the same ones who scream bloody murder if *ANY* gun regulations are proposed. Wonder why that is? Would it be different if this proposed new law was taking place in, say, Massachusetts and the sponsoring legislator came with a (D) after his name? It wouldn't be any different to me, but I bet you it sure would for the average Reichwinger.
Republicans twist themselves into knots trying to avoid contradicting each other

or ban you, then if you post under your Perry sock Rana would have to permaban you.......if she ever did her fucking job......

If you ban me, Perry the Putz might not post here just to throw you off. Thread ban him, let me post then thread ban me. If I had violated the thread ban, one is all it takes and I'd still be in violation.

Amazing.

Almost as if DeSantis is saying, "I am an Adolf Hitler clone...and I intend to become president of the United States of America."

Wtf?
