Let’s take a look at our economic growth:

No one said he was the most popular ever. But most Dems don't want him to run because he's old, and looks too frail these days. He shouldn't be President until he's 86. It's time for some new energy.
He got the most ever votes ever cast for a pResident. Or so they tell us.

From a political perspective then it begs the question, if our economic performance is so stout/stellar, why such low poll numbers and why do so many Democrats want Biden to not run for re-election?

It's due to lies Republicans tell

If marketing wasn't effective, no one would do it.

I thought Trump was a genius that way. It didn't matter if something failed - he'd declare it a success, or exaggerate its effectiveness, and shout it from the mountain tops, again & again & again. And that works. That has always worked. It definitely affects the psychology of a population.

The key was fox and other fake news lying to back Trump

Of course, corporations wouldn’t spend billions on it if didn’t work. But not everyone in the country follows and hangs on every word the President says. And there’s a reason people say statistics lie. The numbers themselves can be accurate but it doesn’t mean they tell an accurate story.

This is basic in its simplicity but it’s accurate. The price of an item can rise from $5 to $10 then drop for seven months in a row and now be $9.50. Sure it’s great the price has dropped but people who were used to paying $5 might not be celebrating they are now “only” paying $9.50.

Inflation is definitely still a drag on the economy, and on people's enthusiasm.

But you understand economics & economic cycles better than most here. Do you really think that the current inflation's causes lie with Biden? Did he implement policies that had such an immediate effect, and spiked inflation in a few short weeks?

Or is it more likely that the foundation of the current inflation lies in a variety of factors, which played out over several years are are tied largely to the pandemic - which is why inflation has really been a global phenomenon?

Yes his war on fossil fuels had an almost immediate effect on the cost of energy and that has an immediate effect on every thing that uses oil to be shipped or planted. Inflation raised steadily every month from January 2021 to August 2022.

The entire fox system is caught dead to rights lying to their viewers and calling them dupes who believe any lie they are told

And you idiots still trust fox?

How long can that last?

The republican party is in massive trouble

No offense, but that's partisan nonsense.

The current inflation is global, and MUCH more complex than that. You have to distill it down to that to find a way to "blame Biden," but anyone w/ even a surface level understanding of economics understands that the factors and pressures that lead to inflation are the culmination of events and policies that take much more time than that.

It's not a "just add water" event.

So who would that be? I'm thinking Gavin Newsom would beat good choice but I'm not sure he'll run. Who else could step up to the plate?
