Columbia University to No Longer Require SAT/ACT for Undergrad Admissions

I'd be curious to hear Flash's opinion here because he works in academia but private schools make it really difficult to drop out. Someone more versed in the system than I can offer way more color than that but its part of the reason you pay the premium you do to go there. (it clearly happens of course but at much lower levels than public schools is my understanding)
I know my medical school offered free tutoring for students that were having a hard time. I tutored a few students.

Blacks do terrible on all standardized tests. Most can't even read even in HS.!!! They graduate due to affirmative action grading by their teachers.

Even without standardized testing a school can still eliminate someone based on their transcript, among other things.
A standardized test more fairly identified a level of education than different high schools which have different courses and different academic standards.

In my opinion, standardized testing is very little to tell us about someone’s qualifications.

What should be used in its place that's a better indicator? Top schools get tens of thousands of applicants for a couple of thousand openings. Some form of metrics must be used to differentiate them.

I don’t know, I just know some very smart and successful people who did not do well on the SAT, and I know some people who scored very well and are fuck ups. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for, but if you’re looking for people who test well, and can regurgitate information the SAT is a good idea.

Doing a good job of making college acceptance decisions would be more expensive but might make for a much more successful school and group of alumni.

I passed the bar exam my first try, but I spent much more time studying test taking strategies than the law.

To graduate from HS, a student should be required to take the SAT and get a middling score of 500+ on both sections. 90% of blacks can't do that.

HAHAHA . Hear that everybody.? This moron says the SAT is NOT PERFECT and so should not be used.
